Captain Don's Habitat

Captain Don’s Habitat is an oceanfront resort set among tropical gardens and native landscaping. Their motto -- ‘Diving Freedom’, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – still rings true. The resort’s founder is the legendary Captain Don Stewart, pioneer of Bonaire marine conservation.

Rooms: Captain Don’s offer 61 total units including Villa Ocean View rooms, Deluxe Ocean View rooms, Two-bedroom Habitat Bungalows and Oceanfront Villa Studios and Suites. All have air-conditioned bedrooms, cable TV, room safes and have balconies or patios. Villa Studios, Suites and Bungalows have complete kitchens and Deluxe rooms and Bungalows have telephones. Daily housekeeping is provided.

Diving: Habitat’s new Dive Center is a Padi 5-Star IDC facility and fulfills every diver need of rentals, sales, service and instruction including a dedicated technical diving department. Three one-tank boat departures are offered daily (snorkelers are welcome) along with scheduled night dives and their diver pier allows 24-hour access within easy reach. The retail facility also offers Scuba Pro dive and snorkel equipment exclusively as well as beach wear, sundries and souvenirs. Photo services and rentals are available.

Dining: The resort’s popular Rum Runners restaurant is oceanfront dining at its best for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also boast the Pizza Temple for thin crust Italian pizza. The adjacent Deco-Stop Bar is a gathering spot for guests and locals alike with live entertainment, happy hour specials and great sunsets. Both are Wi-Fi internet hot spots as well as the pool area.

Amenities: The Spa at Habitat offers massages, body wraps, scrubs, manicures, facials and other treatments. Guests can rent kayaks for exploring the nearby waters. Meeting facilities with audio-visual services and catering are available for groups up to 100. Their large swimming pool is a great place for relaxing.
