We got the email from the government tourist office yesterday. Delta will not operate the Sunday non-stop from Atlanta as planned. We sort of saw this coming, as they had continued to push the start date to a later month on numerous occasions. The loads were just not there — people are booking the Saturday flight but not the Sunday, so Delta is taking no chances on losing money on this schedule. They will operate the Dec 27-Jan 3 flight, as this one is booking up. And the same with Feb 21-28.
Some good news — Delta will upgrade the Saturday Atlanta flight from a 183 seat 757 to a 262 seat 767, starting Feb 13, 2010. The Saturday flight from JFK is scheduled to resume December 19, 2009.
Can’t cry about something we never had. Of course, you can disregard the Sunday Delta flight info until an updated version is released.
