Information:
- What
to expect: Captain Don’s Habitat is an oceanfront
resort set among tropical gardens and native landscaping.
Their motto -- ‘Diving Freedom’, 24 hours a
day, 365 days a year – still rings true. The resort’s
founder is the legendary Captain Don
Stewart, pioneer of
Bonaire marine conservation. Don’t be surprised to
see him captivating an audience here at the end of the
day.
- Rooms: Captain Don’s offer 71 total units including
Villa Ocean View rooms, Deluxe Ocean
View rooms, Two-bedroom Habitat Bungalows and Oceanfront
Villa Studios and Suites.
All have air-conditioned bedrooms, cable TV, room safes
and have balconies or patios. Villa Studios, Suites and
Bungalows have complete kitchens and Deluxe rooms and Bungalows
have telephones. Daily housekeeping is provided.
- Diving:
Habitat’s Dive Center is a Padi 5-Star IDC facility
and fulfills every diver need of rentals, sales, service
and instruction. Three one-tank boat departures are offered
daily (snorkelers are welcome) along with scheduled night
dives and their diver pier allows 24-hour
access within
easy reach. The Photo Center offers complete digital, film,
video and photo service with sales, rental, instruction
and processing.
- Dining: The resort’s popular Rum
Runners restaurant is oceanfront dining at its best for
breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also boast the Pizza
Temple for thin crust Italian pizza. The adjacent Deco-Stop
Bar is a gathering spot for guests and locals alike with
live entertainment, happy hour specials and great sunsets.
Both are Wi-Fi internet hot spots as well as the pool area.
- Amenities: The Intermezzo
Day Spa offers
massages, body wraps, scrubs, manicures, facials and other
treatments. There is a Fitness Room with stationary bikes
and universal machines. Guests can also rent kayaks and
Trek mountain bikes for exploring the nearby waters, roads
and trails. Meeting facilities with audio-visual services
and catering are available for groups up to 80. Their large
swimming pool is a great place for relaxing.
