Captain Don’s Habitat has completed their new dive shop, rental and retail store as well as class and meeting rooms -- and they look great! Construction of 12 new
oceanfront Junior Suites is underway in the old location of the dive shop. Construction is blocked from view and guests at the resort have indicated no problems or
inconvenience. These should be ready late 2010.

Plaza Resort Bonaire has a major renovation project underway, with all 29 of the Grand Suites currently getting a complete updating including flooring, bathroom

Bonaire News – Celebrating 40 Years of Preservation
Did you know that the island of Bonaire is celebrating two remarkable anniversaries during 2009, as leaders in protecting the environment? It was in 1969
that Bonaire’s government used gifted land and opened Washington National Park (Slagbaai Plantation was added to the Park in 1977). And 30 years ago, The
Bonaire Marine Park was born in 1979 (although Bonaire began enacting marine preservation as early as 1961). Check out the short video from Tourism Corporation

Last month, I had the opportunity to use Insel Air’s new service between Miami and Bonaire. Departing from concourse at Miami International Airport
brought back memories of ‘flightmares’ on ALM Airlines. Except this one had an ending that was anything but scary.
I arrived in Miami with well over 2 hours to make my Insel flight to Curacao with connecting service to Bonaire. Bonus -- I even had time to scarf down a Cuban sandwich at La Carreta before my 3:00Pm departure. Check in at the Insel counter in F concourse was quick and my e-ticket was promptly retrieved and boarding pass issued by their agent (who seemed relaxed and happy).Read More

Travel Alert – Delta’s Sunday Flight Suspended
Delta Air Lines announced the second Atlanta flight, scheduled for Sundays, will not operate as planned. Seems everyone wants to travel on the Saturday flights,
and since the Sunday flight was not showing much promise for advance bookings, Delta finally pulled it from the schedule. 
We won’t cry over something we never had,
since they kept putting off the start date anyway. If you are booked on this flight, contact Delta or this office immediately. Good news is that Delta will operate
the Atlanta flight with a larger Boeing 767 starting February 13, adding close to 80 additional seats each week. And the Saturday JFK departure is scheduled to start
again on Dec 19, 2009.
