Resort
Update - Port Bonaire Resort
We want to welcome back an old friend (actually
two). Port
Bonaire Resort has returned with new ownership
and management. This beautiful property has been given attentive
refurbishment, led by the capable management of Irene Dingjan
(who many of you may remember from her days at Belmar
Apartments). The 26 oceanfront, fully air-conditioned one,
two and 2-bedroom with loft apartments have undergone needed
repairs and updates and the waterfront piers and dive shop
areas have been expanded and tailored to the needs of snorkelers,
scuba divers and guests. Lockers, tanks, rental gear and daily
boat dives with Toucan Diving from the private pier are all
available as well as professional instruction.
What hasn’t changed is the spacious poolside
terrace, outstanding views and great location close to town,
shore diving and windsurfing. Irene and the Port
Bonaire staff
look forward to welcoming guests new and old to this one-of-a-kind
spot. For more info on Port
Bonaire, click

Getting
Around the Island
Remember when all you could expect to rent on
Bonaire was a rusted out minivan that looked like a toaster
on wheels? The roads have not changed, but the cars sure have.
Bonaire is still an island where wheeling around
in a rental car could not be easier. And if you are shore diving,
snorkeling, windsurfing or exploring the island, a rental vehicle
is a necessary ingredient for maximum enjoyment. We’ve
been test-driving the newest generation of adventure machines
on the island. Take a look:
Hyundai
Tucson GL -- this sporty option from AB Car rental
comes with 4WD, auto transmission, AC, radio-CD player, power
steering and is one stylin’ ride in a 4 door SUV. It
seats 5 passengers comfortably with smooth handling and peppy
acceleration. This is a great option for tripping around
the island in comfort and safety.
Toyota
Hilux Twin cab 2.7 – This beefed up version
of the popular twin cab truck features a larger cabin, higher
clearance and slightly longer wheelbase, comfortably seating
5 with AC, power steering, manual transmission, radio-CD
player and the new 2.7 liter engine that has some real kick.
For shore diving or go anywhere exploring. Donkeys beware!
At Budget Car Rental.
We have great rates on both of these vehicles and a lot more.
