Bonaire flights between the neighboring islands of Curacao and Aruba can be an adventure, right? Coming as no shock to anyone who has tried flying between the islands on Insel Air in recent months (years?!), the beleaguered airline finally – and officially – called it quits on February 25, 2019. Their brief Facebook post left many ticket holders wondering what would happen to existing tickets for flights in the coming days. While some were accommodated on Divi Divi, others were left with no recourse.
Just in time, though, a new inter-island airline flew onto everyone’s radar. EZ Air, with headquarters on Bonaire, is now offering service to and from all three of the ABC islands.
The EZ Air fleet currently consists of two Beech 1900Ds, one Bombardier Lear 31, a Bombardier Lear 35, and one Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander. With daily flights among the islands and one-way fares between Bonaire and Curacao advertised starting at $60, EZ Air looks to be a solid replacement for failed Insel Air. In other Bonaire flight news, Divi Divi continues to offer multiple flights per day between Bonaire and Curaçao, along with their flights from Curaçao to Aruba and St. Maarten. They’ve also introduced flights between Curaçao and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Find out more on their website.
