All U.S. and Canadian residents are welcome to visit. Flights are now available from USA direct to Bonaire.

Bon Bini – We are Back!

It is with immense pleasure we share with you the news that Bonaire is once again open for direct flights from the United States. The first direct flights in 15 months touched down at Flamingo International Airport on Saturday, June 5th. American Airlines Flight #AA430 arrived shortly before 1:45PM (ahead of schedule!), followed by Delta Airlines Flight #DL1813 about 20 minutes later.

Current COVID-19 Conditions on Bonaire

A safe and healthy Bonaire welcomed these first North American arrivals. While the island experienced an unfortunate bump in the number of active COVID-19 infections a few months ago, the current active cases has been in the single digits. As of June 3, 2021, more than 75 percent of the island’s population has received their first of two Pfizer vaccines, and over 11,000 people are fully vaccinated.

Current Direct Flight Schedules

Going forward through the summer months, direct flights will be available as follows. Both American and Delta will offer same-day turnaround service, so all incoming flights will return to the United States the same day.

American Airlines

Service between Miami and Bonaire on Wednesdays and Saturdays departs mid-morning with early afternoon arrival.

Delta Airlines

Service between Atlanta and Bonaire on Wednesdays (through August 25, 2021) and Saturdays (year-round) departs mid-morning with early afternoon arrival.

You can download our comprehensive and updated Bonaire Flight Guide here. It contains all the latest and most current information on flights to our favorite island.

Now that antigen testing is available upon arrival at Flamingo International Airport, it is even easier for incoming North American passengers to travel safely and conveniently to Bonaire. For passengers returning to the United States, several on-island testing providers are available to administer the necessary PCR test for re-entry to the States.

More Flights Coming

While United Airlines has not indicated they will recommence their weekly direct flights until at least November 2021, we hope the ease of testing and relaxed entry requirements now in place will encourage them to accelerate their return. At the moment, their first direct flight is scheduled to begin on Saturday November 6th from both Houston and Newark (returns to Houston are on Sundays).

Keep an eye on our website and social media channels, Facebook and Instagram, for updates on United Airlines flights to the island.

Current Entry Requirements
