Another day of Bonaire adventure and you’re happily exhausted, thirsty and dreaming about watching another fabulous Bonaire sunset with a cold drink in hand. But where to go? If you’re staying at any of oceanfront resorts like Buddy Dive, Captain Don’s, or Delfins, the answer is easy. Just stroll down to the waterfront and grab a drink at the bar and a seat for the show.
But if you don’t have an oceanfront scene where you are staying or feel like venturing further afield to try something new, why not hit up one of these great spots?
The best memories are made at sunset. Especially with your toes in the sand or surrounded by the sparkling Caribbean!
Located between Eden Beach Resort and Den Laman Condominiums, here you’ll find a lively beach scene, picnic tables, beach loungers and beds, and a great choice of snacks and full meals. Live music happens regularly, and this is the current island hot spot for Friday night happy hour. The central location in the Hato roundabout means it is convenient to wherever you’re staying.
Karel’s Beach Bar
An island landmark situated in the heart of downtown Kralendijk, Karel’s offers a spacious pier jutting out over turquoise water with spectacular views of Klein Bonaire, downtown Kralendijk, and the western coastline. With the town pier just a few steps away, you can watch the coming and going of all types of vessels, while enjoying great food and drinks.
Ocean Oasis Beach Club
The newest entrant to the Bonaire beach bar scene, you can find this sprawling, open air bar along the island’s southwest coast, just past the abandoned hotel project known as Esmeralda. You can rent beach loungers or grab a comfy seat near the bar, and settle in to enjoy unobstructed sunset views, cold drinks, and tasty food. Definitely worth the drive.
